8 years HT KombiBox on the Hueske farm, Germany

Equipped with wellies, Bettina gave us a tour of the stable and showed us the combi boxes that have now been installed for over 8 years. In order to assess whether there were any signs of wear on our product, we first had to uncover the rubber cover sheet, as it was covered with a layer of litter – as it should be. This showed no significant wear either in the top sheet or in the soft composite foam.

As her cows were initially digging the loose bedding material out of the cubicle too much, Bettina decided to install an additional component for the deep cubicle section of this hybrid solution to stabilise the bedding layer. The cubicles should not only be good at the front, but also at the back. When one of the dairy cows stood up next to us, we could see that the 80 mm composite foam with 8 mm rubber cover sheeting not only allows the animals to lie down softly and is easy on the joints, but also provides excellent support and safety when standing up. We were then able to take a look at the barn from above from the gallery. It was obvious that the cows also like the lying comfort of this system and accept it very well. It was also easy to see why Bettina likes to present the barn as an “experimental barn”. For example, the rigid cubicle bars in some cubicles were replaced with flexible systems from different manufacturers and tested. Conclusion for the HT KombiBox: It works with all the tested hanger variants.

At the end of our visit, we realised that after 8 years of use, the KombiBox works as if it had just been installed. It enables the cows in the front area of the deep box to lie down softly and stand up safely. The lying comfort of this system is also extremely high. Bettina’s cows like it and that’s why Bettina is very happy with the HT KombiBox.
